I use mild thc/cbd gummies, shut the door (same cat issue, plus the Beagle/Junkyard dog gets all dramatic when the cat is in the room!) I do have sleep headphones that I hide in the drawer when I don't use them, Max the mutt also loves the taste of technology. I try to go to sleep at the same time and wake up at the same time. For the most part, this helps me sleep (painlessly) through the night.

Thanks for your suggestions Lydia as a fellow pet parent .. I try the in bed and wake up at the same time routine but alas my body is still hooked on the time prior to daylight savings.. I try not to look at the clock!

I also swear by a noisy portable air filter that beats any white noise machine or app. It's not always enough, however. I always keep a low dose sleeping pill on hand.

Honestly it is hit or miss with me. Lately I have tried all the sleep hygiene practices with the addition of Melatonin at bed time. That carries me pretty well through the night. I have never had good sleep so I think this is as close to it as I can get.

It feels like we have a lot in common Lorrie ..although I do remember sleeping more soundly (although usually not enough ) in my younger years before motherhood.

Melatonin used to work..now it weirds me out ! :-(

I can relate to the insomnia, and really nothing I do helps. I have gone back to drinking caffinated coffee in the late afternoon again.. What I do crave is silence, with just natural sounds from the outdoors, the wind in the trees, the rain. I am actually reading this at midnight! It must be a relief to have a good sleep after not being able to for such a long time. I wish you many more peaceful long sleeps at night Heather, there is nothing more delicious.
