Yes please do play and explore ! I am rather ruthless when I look for images in collected ephemera .. just randomly tearing out what offers a little spark - the mixed media sketchbooks help me not get so wound up with perfection and completing finished paintings . I actually enjoy the mix of collage and drawing, painting in this forgiving format !

Thank you for sharing your work book and process. A terrible habit to admit, but all my life - as a young artist to now - I have collected sketch books. Little beacons of hope encouraging me to sit down and fill them up with work. But it just doesn't happen. I want to reverse this trend. Maybe this is my wasp sting. Thank you!

You know it’s August when the wasps start biting! I am trying to do a retrospective of my work. This is a struggle, mostly because I don’t want to look back. Can’t decide whether to do everything in order or do two, one for my collage career and one for painting.

It sounds like a lovely dilemma and yet you can’t go wrong can you ? I typically go with only my most favourite pieces when a decision is to be made .. enjoy the process !

Love having a peek at your sketchbook pages...and art/creative play is a great distraction from ‘stuff’, by far the best medicine. 💕
