It could have been me writing this Heather… 66 yrs old and astonished at the reflection in the mirror. but I'm only 6 (really) !! I have a young mind set but have adopted most of what you have. I value my life and effervescence - long may it continue.
As for my art, I REFUSE to be sidelined because of my age and shall pursue my heartfelt intention to connect with my future followers. The trick is finding out how…
I’m finding this stage of life fascinating as I approach my 65th birthday! I went through life protecting myself and building layers of armor. The last few years has been getting down to the core of my onion...😀 I keep my mind open with new learning and being mindful. I keep movement in my physical life and I nurture my spirit with nature, reflection and my 21 month old grandson’s giggles and laughter! Nothing is promised to us at this stage of life and I remember that and enjoy everything with genuine gratitude.
I love this so much, Heather, what a treasure that you have that old movie from your childhood. I'm also cutting down the coffee and other unhealthy things, and enjoying moving around in the pool. Thanks so much for this interesting post!
Life is lived best in moments. Being fully aware of now and giving and taking what you can while you have the opportunity. Mindfulness isn't always pleasant but it is living. I don't know the source but I learned from my mother, "The clock of life is wound but once and no one knows just when the hands will stop at late or early hour. Now is the time to live, love, and toil with a will. Place no faith in tomorrow, for the hands may then be still." I live every moment I am alive and have shared it all with a wonderful partner for more than 60 years of those moments. To me that is living!
Thank you for this, Heather. I’ve just finished reading Tom Lake by Ann Patchett and it is a beautiful book about being young, how we remember and what we tell x
