Susannah I do love your plans for summer ahead ! I love the concept and the vagueness of your bird illustrations - and hope we will get a glimpse of your process at some point too. It’s exciting as ideas begin to germinate . I also think your nature journaling Substack is fascinating . There are so many creative links and tendrils in your personal expression and creative life !
I'm loving the Clothesline series - exciting to see how this develops. For work this summer I'm making a series of natural history illustrations of birds from my own references and the study collection at the local university's natural history museum. The project is still vague as I haven't seen what I have to work from at the museum, but ideas are beginning to develop. Then there are the projects and essays for my nature journaling Substack. For my personal development, I continue to draw from observation every day in my sketchbook with a dip pen to improve my technique. There are non-art things I want to do this summer - road trips, reading, container gardening - but mostly I just want to be present in my life this summer. Change is coming - good change, welcome change, but still... :-D
